Famous People from Seminole Florida

Every place on earth has its uniqueness and special association. Similarly, Seminole in Florida State has its uniqueness to offer. White people first settled in Seminole, Florida in 1840s and the community was mainly named after Seminole Indians that used to live in this area before the white settlement.   • Angela Elwell Hunt

 

Angela Elwell Hunt is a prolific writer. Her works include The Tale of Three Trees, The Debt and The Note among others. She has maintained her passion for photography which is her hobby. Married to the Baptist Minister Gary Hunt, she has a daughter and a son. She lives in Seminole. One of her mastiffs was featured as the second largest dog in America on Live with Regis and Kelly.

Beauty queen Nicole Johnson was crowned Miss America in 1999. She is an actress, author and diabetes activist. She became the first Miss America diagnosed with type 1 diabetes (1993). She is an activist for diabetes research, treatment and education. Nicole Johnson has one child.

Casey Kotchman

The professional baseball player is famed for having the most consecutive put out runs recorded at 2,379 without error. He has played in the Major League Baseball for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, Atlanta Braves and Boston Red Sox among others.

One of the longest drivers in golf, Brittany Grace Lincicome lives in Seminole. She is a professional golfer with many achievements, including 2009 winner of Kraft Nabisco championship and the 2015 ANA inspiration.

 

  • Randy Savage

 

Randy Mario Poffo was known by several ring names, including Macho Man Randy Savage. He is acclaimed as one of the greatest American wrestlers in history. He won 29 titles in a span of 32 years of his career. He participated in the World Wrestling Federation and the World Championship Wrestling where he won several accolades in his career. Randy died on 20th May 2011. He was included in the WWE hall of fame posthumously.

Born Robert Louis Wilson is a professional baseball catcher. The American professional baseball player played in the Major League Baseball for Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, Arizona Diamondbucks and Tampa Bay Rays among others.

Meteorologist John Winter was usually the morning anchor for WFLA – television, an affiliate of NBC news. He was a native of Seminole, Florida.
